MICHAEL CRAMMOND (GK) Debut 2002
Entrepreneur Michael returned to the club this season, to replace the emigrating Fraser Hepburn. Formerly with Grimsby Town, Nottingham Forest and most recently with Blyth Spartans, Michael has rediscovered his passion and confidence playing for the Green and Black. He has firmly re-established himself as first choice keeper and probably only one time guest keeper Andy Cutts can challenge him as Alltime Number 1.

FRASER HEPBURN (GK) Debut 1998
The big fella is a shining example of the club's grow your own philosophy, and has shown what determination and desire to improve can achieve. Fraser's presence gives the defence much re-assurance, and his ability to catch and deal with crosses sets him apart from many a keeper at this level. Also strong on one-on ones he made 1st team no. 1 his own and emigrated at Christmas as he wanted to: at the top of his game.

KEV HARTY (GK) Debut 2003
Along with Rob Scott, Kev turned the keeper's position from one of weakness to strength. Kev played a massive part in the A's success last season and is easily capable of playing in the 1st team, as he proved this season, only Crammond's return has limited his appearances

MATTHEW BUCKLEY (DEFENCE) Debut 2002
Buck is the most versatile of players and has played effectively in every position except goalkeeper. This and his competitive nature make him an invaluable member of the team, only missing a handful of games.

MARK MENTON (DEFENCE) Debut 2003
The elder and argueably less talented brother of Paul, Mark had an excellent first season after joining the club form 1st Division Wallington. Mark is a cultured and consistent left back with a good footballing brain, as his fitness improved he became an increasingly effective attacking option. For his committment to the team (appearing 28 out of 30 league games) and his fundraising efforts he was named Club Man of the Year and took joint 3rd place in 1st team player of the season.

JAMES 'TART' ALMOND (DEFENCE) Debut 1998
Former 1st team player of year returned after working away for much of 2002-03. An excellent defender, Tart excelled in the man to man marking role in the 3-5-2 preferred by former legendary manager Samm Haillay. Much of the passion for the Green and Black bears the mark of splinter's influence. He had to content himself with a place in the A's last season but well deserved his place in over half the 1st team's games this year.

ADAM 'TAFF' ALEXANDER (DEFENCE) Debut 2002
Many are the forwards who have suffered from Taff's cunningly deployed 'reducer' in the first few minutes of every game. A veteran of the intra-mural circuit, he has easily made the transition to the rigours of Geordie league football. Strong in the air, hard in the tackle and always fully committed, he was memorably labelled an 'animal' by our friends from the RVI.

SHAUN CAVANAGH (DEFENCE) Debut 2002
Ex-Newcastle University captain Shaun has made a massive impression since joining the Green and Black at the start of the season. The club is delighted to have such a talented and committed player on their books. Shaun is a physically imposing centre half with pure footballing ability, a rare combination at any level. One of the first to pay his subs, an ever present at training and always involved in club fund raising Shaun has won the 1st team Player of the Year a record 3 times consecutively and Club Man of the Year last season.

DAVE ROBINSON (DEFENCE/CF) Debut 2002
Trigger proved he really is a centre half after lumbering up front as a shot shy target man, though as he never resists repeating he did score the only goal in the 2002-03 Calvert Cup final and the 1st team's first ever goal in the Northern Alliance. Defensive colossus, Trigger was in outstanding form all season for the 1sts, one game from being an ever present. Trigger is undoubtedly one of the hardest working men in the club and most a entertaining orator.

DAVID MERCER (MIDFIELD) Debut 2000
Dave is an example to all at the club. He has made himself an integral part of the side through his sheer determination to win and improve. Dave is the fittest player at the club and his hard tackling makes him an ideal midfield ball winner. Dave has worked very hard to improve his technical ability and now bares no resemblance to the raw player who joined the club four seasons ago. Dave's commitment to the Green and Black runs off the field where he has willingly given up time to work on the pitch.

GAZ HOPKINS (UTILITY) Debut 1997
Club legend with over 250 appearances for the club. One of few certainties in life, is that, if there is a Garnett game, Gaz will be there, untill injury hit him this season. An excellent athlete with great pace and strength, Gaz can play in any position on the park, with aplomb, and without complaining. Also an excellent supplier of quality from dead ball situations. Good team man, always reliable and committed, though sometimes one wonders just how good he could be, given his natural ability….

NEIL HINDLEY (MIDFIELD) Debut 1997
Popular Neil had his best ever season in Green and Black colours last year. Always quick to make friends with Geordies, Neil played in the last 8 games at the end of this year. Neil played for Garnett in his 1st year before leaving to play for the University but has made a happy return. He is also the man that brought Cav, Jason and Taff to the club.

DAVE CAVE (MIDFIELD) Debut 2003
Super skilled Dave Cave has formerly played in Northern League for Blue Star and despite an injury plagued last season, his ability shone through. Equally home in the centre or wide right of midfield, local lad Dave has been missed for most of the season.

NICO HESLOP (MIDFIELD) Debut 2003
Another talented 2nd year, Nico learned quickly under the tutelage of Scargill and Pollard in the Corinthian league and fully deserved his promotion to the Reserves and 1st team squad. Nico has the ability to play anywhere up front or midfield and a real eye for a goal. His continued development ensures a productive Garnett career that has already reached 75 appearances and 19 goals.

DAVE MULLEN (MIDFIELD) Debut 2003
Bar room warrior "Bruno", is a cultured left sided defender/midfielder. His passing ability and composure on the ball immediately impressed at trials and he quickly won a regular place in the Reserves last season. Dave is one of the few freshers in recent history to make an impact on the 1st team and has continued to do so this year despite injuries.

JOHN HALL (MID/FORWARD) Debut 2003
By the most fortunate of circumstances, John was spotted playing tennis at Benson Park during 2003
pre-season training and was looking for a team in the area. John was a player who knew Cav from Newcastle University days. John has proved himself to be the ultimate team man and a totally committed player, travelling from Teeside for games and training, and willingly filling in at any position but he is at his best at centre forward.

DAVID ALEXANDER (MIDFIELD/FORWARD) Debut 2001
When gifted Ulsterman David joined the club 3 seasons ago he moved quickly through the ranks to fight for a place in 1st team squad. Possessing a wide range of technical and physical attributes Dave has the talent to be a top quality player. His distribution has improved to match his penchant for show-boating. Last season he became a Centurian, joining that elite group of players who have played 100 games for the Green and Black.

PAUL MENTON (MID/FORWARD) Debut 2003
Younger but argueably more talented brother of left back Mark, Paul made a return to footbal after not playing 11-a-side since he was a schoolboy. Paul has worked hard on his fitness and has established himself as the striking prospect. Paul has a great touch and ability to score goals from midfield. Paul also holds the title as most under the thumb player in the club.

DANNY SHERWOOD (CF) Debut 1998
The most prolific striker in the club's history, Danny has returned to the Green and Black to start "enjoying it again". Danny had scored 249 goals for the club prior to the season and has now reached 284. With the talented Jason Hall and Geordie whippet Jason Thompson challenging him for the two striking positions, Danny worked hard to wear his favourite number 9 shirt.

JASON THOMPSON (CF) Debut 2002
Geordie whippet, Jason learned his football many years ago under Paddy's management in Heathfield School's Under 15 B team. By amazing coincidence he has now arrived at the Green and Black. A diminutive striker with a blazing turn of pace and quick feet, Jason has caused problems to every defence he has encountered.

DAN CORCORAN (FORWARD) Debut 2001
Diminutive winger Dan worked his way up to 1st team contention after after impressing in fresher trials starting in the As (for whom he once bagged six in game) and then moving to the Reserve teams. Dan has worked hard to establish himself in the 1st team squad, his pace and trickery on the give sides a genuine option on the left.
