GARNETT WED B TEAM REPORT
Wed 3rd December 2003 Garnett B 3 (2) vs. (1) 3 Jesmond Lynam

Change in formation saw 3-5-2 formation for first time. Worked well at first, and 2 stunning goals for Garnett, a left foot volley from MoM HESLOP and a mazy dribble past 6 opp players was finished off beautifully by MURRAY. All his own work! Lynam got a goal back at half time from a well worked goal that culminated in a diving header.

After half time Garnett went 3-1 up courtesy of an excellent through ball to YOUNG, who finished coolly. Garnett became complacent, and you could tell, and the 3-5-2 system began to crack under the strain. Lynam scored 15 mins from end to set up a tense finish, and sure enough, 3 mins from full time the tricky striker wove through 3 Garnett players and slotted home. 3-3, and definitely a case of 2 points lost rather than 1 gained.

Thorpe is relieved for the Christmas break, as it gives his team a chance to recuperate and recover from injuries, etc, which have obviously taken its toll. But hey, Man Utd always have a blip this time of year, and they finish incredibly strongly season after season. Let's hope Garnett B can do the the same.

Team: K.Harty, R.Thorpe, A.Bell (T.Brydon), R.Wallace, S.Simms, R.Monaghan, T.Penn, N.Heslop 1 (MoM), P.Murray 1, S.Moore, K.Young 1
