GARNETT ACADEMY TEAM REPORT
Saturday 8th December 2007 Garnett Academy 10 (3) vs. (0) 0 Newcastle City A

The Academy continued their free scoring form with an emphatic 10-0 win over basement side Newcastle City.  Due to the terrible weather conditions at Bullocksteads, the referee only played 30 minutes each way, which was just as well for City who started with ten players but finished with only eight due to injury.

The Academy attacked incessantly and missed numerous chances but a late burst 4 goals in the last 5 minutes strangely after Paddy replaced the frozen John Elliott, boosted the scoreline! Three of these, two of which were screamers, were from Man of the Match Chris Inman who ended with four.  Potter, whom should have been playing right back at the time, tapped in the other when he deprived Paddy of his first goal since1993, when he intercepted his goal bound flick inches from the line.

Mark Envy scored one but according to Robbo missed numerous one on ones, fellow A teamer Dan Barrett notched a brace.  Inspirational player manager Robbo scored again as did the returning Andy Bell.

Special thanks to Reserve team goal keeper Ryan Pearson who endured a frozen and inactive hour in nets and Parky who had an equally cold time as substitute. The Academy now sit proudly top of the league but the team knows how competitive the division is with every team losing at least twice.

The Academy will be hoping to field a settled side after Christmas in their quest for glory, Elliott was their 48th player this season.
