GARNETT C TEAM REPORT
Saturday 27th November 2004 Real Ale Madrid 1 (1) vs. (0) 1 Garnett C

Garnett were back to league action after saying their emotional goodbyes to a much hoped cup run last week. The side was extremely weak with 7 regulars absent and a make shift side having to be assembled. Nevertheless in true Garnett style the team was still ram packed with quality and the desire for a result.

The game got off to a great start with Garnett dominating possession and the chances on goal. 10 minutes in a sweeping strike from Royal was expertly tipped over the bar, the player/manager thought it was going to be his day until soon after he missed a slightly not as bad "Kanu" type opportunity.

The chances kept on pouring in for Garnett, however Real Ale Madrid, a much improved side compared to the start of the season, took the lead and went into half time ahead.

A second half change was made, with Brydon being replaced by Garnett stand in "Dan." It was long before another change was needed early on after the restart, Royal went up for a 50/50 header and on his decline received a knee to the face from his opponent, leaving him on the ground and his nose doing an impression of what a bloody fountain might look like. Little did he know a broken nose was the result.....

Anyway the match continued with "Andy" another newcomer making his first Garnett appearance in exchange for the injured Royal.

The game had very few chances from then on, with neither side creating anything special. It was only in the last five minutes a spectacular own goal from a Madrid defender, gifted Garnett a point to take home.
