Saturday 6th November 2004 Garnett B 8 (3)
vs.(0) 0 Chemfica B
|
After a two week break Garnett started sluggishly against Chemfica B with both sides making some silly early mistakes. It was Garnett, however, that first made the breakthrough on 20 minutes with a Dan Ford shot come cross and Marshall rose well to place his header beyond the Chemfica goal keeper. After that Garnett began to impose themselves more on the game with goals following from Jones and Holme. It could have been more after Stu Cave headed over after a pin point cross form Holme, and was denied shortly after by an excellent reflex save by the Chemfica keeper. Garnett continued in the same vein in the second half and made it four after Church smashed home from a neat layoff by Jones. Stu Cave then got his shooting boots on with two further goals, along with another deserved goal from Man of the Match Holme, again skinning the Chemfica left back. Cave got his hat trick with weak shot that squirmed through the keepers arms to wrap up a comprehensive win from a more than competent Garnett team with excellent performances all round.
