After starting slowly Garnett B got into their stride and early on had a few chances to open the scoring. First was Jones from six yards, but somehow he failed to score! Later on, from a well-taken free kick by Ford, Poole fearlessly rose at the far post only for his header to hit the post, the goalmouth scramble which ensued, ended fruitless. Despite all this pressure Garnett B found themselves a goal behind at half time thanks to a well-sliced own goal from Shaw (Titus Bramble? - Roger).

The second half started better and Garnett B were soon level after a good run by Keith Jones who, managing to keep his feet, poked the ball home. Alas the defence didn't keep up their concentration and let Chemfica B's big centre midfielder burst through to put Chemfica ahead once more.

Shortly after, good running by Man of the Match Church down the left wing allowed him to cross to the right, and although over hit the subsequent cross-shot returned by Sharp ended up in the goal. This time Garnett held their own and good challenging by Poole at the back and Almond in the middle kept the contest alive.

Then Church broke again down the left and slid a cross in for Jones, who's shot somehow squirmed its way over the line.

Chemfica piled players forward but their late pressure was contained. To wrap things up late on, Jones broke away by down the left, squared to fresher Van Savoogen, who calmly slotted the ball in with only the keeper to beat.
