Saturday 2nd October 2004 Garnett B 1 (0) vs.(0)
1 Jesmond Mysterons
|
It was a very shaky start to the game and only very frantic defending in the first fifteen minutes kept Jesmond Mysterons off the score sheet. After this Garnett found a better rhythm though still put themselves into trouble on a couple of occasions. Garnett had a couple of chances of their own but also failed to convert. A very tight second half was brought to life with a Mysterons goal direct from a corner to put the pressure on Garnett. This seemed to be the incentive the Bs needed to start playing and they upped the performance level. Harry Tomei was inspirational in the centre with excellent tracking as well as playing the ball around very neatly. Good work down the right by Matt followed by a good cross allowed Potter to nod it down for Keith Jones to prod home. Mysterons still pressed and was it not for a near post reflex stop, a tip onto the cross bar and a double face save by the excellent Shaw, Mysterons could have won this. Garnett held on, with their fair share of chances to have won this themselves, to gain what could prove to be a vital point.
