GARNETT A TEAM REPORT
Saturday 9th November 2002 Athletico Jizzmen 0 (0) vs.(2) 2 Garnett A

After a disappointing defeat the week before it was important to get a win against Jizzmen and with a much strengthened team out confidence was high. (If you cant guess, "much strengthened team" means I was back.)

We started well and put them under pressure from the start and it wasn't long before we got rewarded for our pressure. Adam Bell picked it up after what can only be described as a pinpoint ball from the captain and inspirational team leader, and after that finished what was an easy chance- all he had left to do was break into the box, beat 3 men and slot it past the keeper. It was on a plate. We carried on where we'd started for the majority of the half and created a couple of chances: Admittedly I should probably have scored one of these but shot just past the post.

Then there was a moment of pure genius that I can't see being beaten for goal of the season. Al Hindle picked it up on the right, head up knocked a brilliant ball across the pitch to myself wide left, I took a touch and knocked it to Bell whose back heel feel straight to Etan whose finish past the keeper was worthy of the move.

We went a bit stale after that and created very little in the second half and were under the cosh at times but held out for a first clean sheet of the season, largely thanks to a great save from Jochen and a diving header off the line from Ward.
