GARNETT A MATCH REPORT
Monday 10th May 2004 Garnett A 4 (3) vs.(1) 2 Chemfica A

Garnett turned on the style in the first period of the Calvert Cup semi-final after going 1-0 down early on.

Manager Pendlebury described the first period as the best Garnett A have played all season, Garnett started with a hangover from Saturday BBC Final loss to Newcastle City and went 1-0 down. However, Garnett then started to pass the ball out from the defence and control possesion more and soon were level when Young blasted an unstoppable 20 yard drive into the top corner. Garnett were in control and running the game and in the process played some lovely stuff. Young made it 2-1 after unselfish play from Bell, and Bell himself made it 3 just before half-time after a beautiful ball from Almond.

3-1 at half-time and Garnett were crusing, in the second half Chemfica pushed 3 up front but Garnett defended well and didn't give away a single clear cut chance. However, Chemfica did get a goal from a shot from distance that took a wicked bounce past the injured Harty. Garnett secured the win when Young finished well after the opposition keeper had spilled Mercer's shot.

Garnett dream of the double is on.
