GARNETT A MATCH REPORT
Saturday 8th May 2004 Garnett A 0 (0) vs.(0) 2 Newcastle City

Garnett lost first game since September and the first game that many of the team have lost on a Saturday in the BBC Radio Newcastle Cup Final versus Newcastle City.
Both goals in the second half killed Garnett hopes of a treble but the double remains on.

The first half was fairly even but Garnett probably shaded it and had the best chance of the half when Young missed when one-on-one.

Second half was much the same until a City player vollyed a 25 yard effort in the top corner past Keeper Harty. Garnett then hit the bar through Heslop who'd replaced the non match fit Collins. Murray had a golden opportunity from a free-kick but his effort went straight at the keeper, the final and killer goal came 5 minutes from the end when Garnett were caught on the break.
