Saturday 6th March 2004 Garnett A 3 (1) vs.(0)
0 Benton Village
|
Tremendous professional performance from Garnett to
keep the pressure on Newcastle City at the top of the league. Garnett
started well and took the lead when Adam Bell finished cooly
after good work from Penn. Benton Village then came back into game and
missed a golden chance from a corner when the #11 missed from 2 yards.
The first half was mainly a midfield battle with few chances. However,
after a half time meeting, Garnett came into there own, and Bell
made it two with an excellent finish after good link up play with Young.
Garnett then kicked on and passed the ball around with more confidence
with Holmes and Deeble prominant in all Garnett created. Benton Village
still came on strong but Garnett defended well, with the addition of
Almond at right back for the injured Smith, adding stability to the
defence. Team: K.Harty, M.Smith (J.Almond), C.Jackson, M.Pollard, D.Pendlebury, P.Janes, T.Penn (P.Murray), B.Holmes, K.Young, Adam Bell 3 (MoM), M.Deeble. |
