Garnett finally top the league with a performance full heart and character. Garnett started the game poorly, with the defence being unusually shaky. Bensham took the lead direct from a free-kick. Garnett finally woke-up and looked like scoring every time they attacked and drew level when leading scorer Young turn his marker on the half way line and then ran all the way into the area and finished coolly with his left foot. Bensham then took the lead again from the penalty spot when Miller was adjudged to have brought down the #9. Then came a special moment with Holmes drawing Garnett level with goal of the season contender. A free-kick was cleared by Bensham however, Holmes hit the clearance first time on the volley with his weaker left foot and the ball went like a rocket into the top corner. Miller summed up the goal with is comment of "You Beauty". Garnett went in at half time on level terms without playing well. In the second half Garnett were dominant. Adam Bell missed a golden chance to put Garnett in front when he missed an open net from 2 yards out. However, Garnett took the lead when talisman Pollard timed his run perfectly into the area to glance a header into the far corner from a cross from Man of the Match Hopkins, making his 250th appearance for the club. Garnett then kicked on, with Hopkins at the centre of everything, and Adam Bell finished the contest when he finished from close range after the keeper had only parried a Hopkins effort. Garnett go top with 4 games left, after a game which saw Garnett concede 2 goals for the first time since October. Also, Young, Pollard, and Adam Bell occupy 3 of the top 5 League Golden Boot positions.
