GARNETT RESERVES MATCH REPORT
Saturday 2nd October 2004 Garnett Bohemian 1 (0) vs.(0) 1 Wallsend the Bush

With five minutes left centre half Adam "Taff" Alexander was thrown up front in a desperate search for an equaliser. He duly oblidged when Sam King's through ball was missed by a visiting defender for inspirational skipper Gareth Hopkins to cooly draw the keeper to leave Alexander with the simplest of finishes. With the Wallsend defence appealing in vain for offiside, Alexander gleefully walked teh ball into an empty net.

A draw was a fair result on the balance of the game. The Reserves played
some excellent football in the 1st half but failed to take advantage, none more so than Dan Corcoran who had a penalty well saved. Hopkins twice and King also came close as Reserves keeper Kevin Harty was rarely stretched.

The second half was a different story as the Reserves stopped passing the ball to the standard to which they are capable, allowing Wallsend to dominate. Early in the second half the excellent visiting number 10 escaped down the right of the Reserves defence and his wicked cross was volleyed in
at close range leaving Harty no chance. Man of the Match Harty who had an excellent game throughout kept the Reserves in the game when Wallsend broke away with a great one on one save. Wallsend continued to impress but yet again the Reserves back four turned in an excellent and committed performance. Despite being outplayed for much of the second half the Reserves never gave up and were rewarded with Alexander's late equalizer.
