GARNETT RESERVES MATCH REPORT
Sunday 10th April 2005 Garnett Bohemian 2 (1) vs.(0) 0 Bokeby

The Reserves earned a confidence boosting and deserved win over better than advertised Norwegian visitors Bokeby, who had 100% record in their domestic league last season.

Following poor performances in the previous two years Norwegian friendlies, the Reserves were determined to take the initiative from the start. This they did effectively, playing at a pleasingly high tempo throughout which Bokeby found hard to contend with. In many ways this was a typical Reserves performance, lots of effort and some decent passing moves but lacking the killer touch.

Fresher Chris Pearce was again the dominant player on the pitch with another energetic hard tackling performance, he fully deserved his landslide Man of Match award and his late goal. Matty Laws also impressed in an unfamiliar central midfield position, on evidence of this combative performance he may have a long term future here. Laws gave the Reserves a 1 st half lead with a free kick which went through the wall and keeper. Bokeby rarely threatened with captain centre half Adam Alexander strong and composed and fresher Andy Smith covering intelligently alongside him. The less said about performance of guest strikers, 1 st team defenders Shaun Cavanagh and Trigger Robinson the better.
