| After being outfought and outplayed in the
first half by a decent Ashington Colliers side, the 1st team rallied to
score four goals in the second which they dominated. Three from Neil Hindley
corners, Mark Brown, skipper Shaun Cavanagh and John
Hall all scored from close range and after Hall had been needlessly
fouled Danny Sherwood hammered home a penalty to score his 20th
in 10 successive games. This was a great result against a genuine title
