GARNETT B TEAM REPORT
Saturday 25th November 2006 Garnett B 3 vs. 4 Washington CC

I again went along with the B's and gladly gave up the goalkeepers gloves to Kev. The B's lost 3-4 to high flying Washington. Powers gave away a needless penalty very early on as we failed to take advantage of the wind at Bullocksteads and they scored on the break shortly before half time. In between times Kev hardly touched the ball as we had a lot of possession without creating any golden chances. Heads went down a bit at 0-2 but we responded well in the 2nd half. The hardworking Shaun Emmott ended his goal scoring drought with a cool one on one finish, I am hoping this goal will do wonders for his confidence as he has the talent to be the goal scorer the team really needs. Unfortunately, straight form kick off one of their lads ran through our whole team to score an amazing individual goal, he should have been clattered well before he got there but all credit to the lad, it was a great piece of skill. We kept going and Fordy, who was far from happy that I had started him on the bench again, scored with a sublime left footed chip that few in the club would have the technical ability to replicate. Yet again defensive naivity let them back in, a free header from 3 yards from a corner. Wanchope came on up front and once again made an impact with his aggression and desire. He missed a great chance after another good passing move before Pearce hammered home with the last kick of the game. Even allowing for Kev, Merc and Pearce playing, this was another encouraging performance. Jamie, Chris Wademan, Aki, Ali Walworth and Emmott all did really well again. Definitely basis of a good team, we kept battling and are starting to look more like scoring goals.
