GARNETT WED A TEAM
Wed 19th October 2005 Garnett A 0 (0) vs. (1) 3 Z Lions.

A very bad day at the office for the green and black saw the A's fall far short of the standard set in the first two games of the season.

Due to Z Lions inability to get a team out they have been replaced in the league by Castle Leazes A who play under the Z Lions banner.
The mood from the start seemed to sum up the A's afternoon when they were constantly out fought by their counterparts.
Garnett struggled to make an impact on the opposition goal where as a fresher and more determined Z Lions took the game to the green and black and almost got their reward early on when a cross found it's way to the back post and was caught on the half volley by the Lions striker. Scrambling across his goal Harty managed to pull off a good save and pushed the ball over the bar to concede one of a number of corners against the Lions.

Soon though Z lions got their breakthrough when they raided down the A's left hand side and too easily managed to get their ball into the box for their striker to rifle his effort home from twelve yards.

For a while the A's managed to put together some decent football and a moment of brilliance from Heslop saw him turn on the outside left of the box before unleashing a great shot that cannoned off the underside of the bar to a covering defender.

The second half seemed to be what hopefully will be a one off for the A's as they started to get frustrated and argue with one another. This in turn meant heads dropped further and Z Lions took full advantage scoring twice more the third A good strike from twenty yards that went into the bottom corner.
When three goals down the A's then had their best spell of the match. With Matt Hill testing the goalkeeper with a fine effort from twenty two yards in the closing minutes.

On A positive note man of the match was given to debutante Jamie Mills who had a good game on his call up to the A's with a strong and composed defensive performance.
As pointed out by the management team of Harty and Mullan after the game if this talented A side is to win anything this year a sharp improvement in attitudes will be required.
