GARNETT A TEAM REPORT
Saturday 14th February 2004 Jesmond Mysterons 1 (0) vs.(0) 1 Garnett A

Garnett grabbed a point they scarcely deserved in windy conditions. Mysterons started the game better than a Garnett team who thought all they had to do to win was turn up, and Keeper Harty kept Garnett in the game with two tremendous saves.

Garnett changed from a back 4 to a back 3 with 5 in midfield and this seemed to stem the flow of Mysterons attacks and half way through the half Garnett created their only chance when Jackson fired over after good work down the right by Young.

0-0 at half time, and again as in the first half Mysterons started better taking the lead from a corner, when the big centre midfielder for Mysterons out jumped Pollard. Garnett then started playing and dominated for 15 minutes with Holmes being denied from short range by a tremendous save from the Mysterons keeper.

Garnett then equalised, Bell who replaced Deeble was brought down in the area for a penalty which Pollard despatched coolly to take his run of goals to 8 in 4 games. Garnett then held on for a draw and at the end of the season this result will be considered as 1 point gained rather than 2 dropped, however attitudes must improve for next weeks game against Interpon Bensham. Special praise goes to Smith and Jackson who were outstanding.

Team: K.Harty, M.Smith, C.Jackson (MoM), M.Pollard 1, D.Pendlebury, J.Almond, T.Penn, B.Holmes, K.Young, S.Collins, M.Deeble (Adam or Andy Bell?).
