GARNETT A TEAM REPORT
Saturday 1st November 2003 R.V.I. 1 (1) vs.(1) 1 Garnett A

Garnett battled hard for a well earned draw against a strong R.V.I. side. With the history of this fixture known to all, Garnett started the game well, with Tellez and Young testing the R.V.I. keeper.

After 15 minutes, Garnett took the lead when Deeble floated a lovely ball from a free kick into the box which everyone missed including the R.V.I. keeper to make the score 1-0 to the Green and Black. This seemed to wake R.V.I. up and they came more and more into the game, and eventually won a penalty, harshly given when Smith breathed too hard on the R.V.I. number 15. The same player then strode up tp the spot to send Harty he wrong only to see his shot canon off the bar! R.V.I. huffed and puffed and hit the bar again

I
t seemed that Garnett had seen off all the pressure, but R.V.I. scored with the last kick of the first half, due to sloppy marking from Garnett which allowed a free header that an R.V.I. player buried from close range.

The 2nd half of the game was mainly played in Garnett territory but without any clear cut chances, but Collins could have won the game for Garnett, his close range attempt hit the bar leaving the scores level.
