Unfortunately we're still waiting for the match report
from Robbo (I think it is) for this game. But in brief from memory -
Roger:
The Reserves went into this game seeking revenge for the 2-0 home defeat
suffered at the hands of RS Benwell early in the season. Unlike that
game were chances came thick and fast but were not scored, this was
a far tighter affair. Dawson and Robinson took a chance
each before half time this combined with a massive work rate from the
two strikers earned then a joint man of the match award. RS Benwell
earned a penalty after new journeyman Woodward tugged back on his man
after the striker had picked his pocket coming out of defence. They
converted it to make it 2-1 at half time.
The second half saw a resolute performance with the Reserves having
their own claim for a penalty and hitting the woodwork a couple of times.
Things got a little heated during the final stages but not so much in
front of goal as the Reserves eased their 5th
win in 6.
