GOSFORTH BOHEMIAN GARNETT REPORT
Wednesday 20th August 2003 Gosforth Bohemian Garnett 0 (0) Daisy Hill 1 (0)
The Chairman said this was "the greatest travesty of a result in my 22 years with the Green and Black". Against a poor but determined side Bohemian Garnett somehow contrived to lose.
Recalled keeper James Poole only touched the ball twice with his hands in the first half such was the domination but dubious offside calls and poor finishing and dogged defending kept the score blank.

At half time, Bohemian Garnett were confident that their greater fitness and ability would become decisive as the visitors tired. Disaster struck in the first minute of the second half when a well delivered free kick was headed in from three yards at the near post, a very disappointing goal to concede with both defence and keeper left blaming each other. Daisy Hill then got everyone behind the ball and defended desperately for the remainder of the game as Bohemian Garnett got increasingly frustrated with the linesman's "decisions" and lack of protection from the referee.

This aspect of the game is something that needs to improve, the team must learn to keep their self discipline and pass the ball patiently in such situations.

All in all, an improved performance from Saturday but three bad points lost.
