GARNETT WED B TEAM REPORT
Wed 2nd November 2005 Garnett B 2 (1) vs. (2) 4 Pro Panthers

Without question the worst performance by the B's this season and any other games the players may have experienced in a Garnett shirt ever. A bit harsh maybe well if you ask the players I don't think they will disagree.

After a shaky start on a very poor pitch Garnett took the lead through a well taken goal by Lee Marshall. On a positive note this was his third in two games. Poor Defending led to the Panthers to equalize and then take the lead. Defensively Garnett were shocking gifting the opposition with both goals. The second half came to a close with Garnett 2:1 down. Irritatingly the B's knew they were a superior team but had not taken advantage of the chances they had calved out. The opposition had created nothing and had simply capitalised on the mistakes made as you would expect from any team. No one was out of breath at half time and everyone was visibly disappointed in the first half display.

The team came out for the second half much more positively and after ten minutes an Atkinson cross found the head of Harry Potter and put Garnett back on level terms. The B's were lifted by this and it looked like a certain turning point for the team to take the game by the scruff of the neck. This however did not happen, a mistake in defence with a failed clearance led to a cross into the box and the Panthers once again taking the lead. Garnett did not raise their game and a fourth goal was conceded through poor defending once again. The B’s had many chances to get back into the game, the most notable when a free kick from Marshall came off the bar and a lack of communication amongst three Garnett players managed to do the impossible and knock it wide. The final whistle was blown; Garnett lost 4:2 to a team three divisions below them.

In the dressing room after there was complete silence and a furious atmosphere amongst the players. It was noted that no one had seen a dressing room after a game like this before and hopefully displayed each player knew they had done badly and cared about the team doing well.

It was lucky that this was a Cup match, a performance in the league like this has relegation material written all over it. It is sad to have to write so negatively about a team that has blatantly got what it takes to do well and the players will have to change their attitude and form ready for next weeks crunch game against Z lions.
