GARNETT WED A TEAM
Wed 23rd November 2005 Barca Law Na 1 (0) vs. (2) 3 Garnett A

Garnett went into this game in desparate need of a win at this crucial stage of the season.

On a freezing cold day the A's took some time to settle and get their passing game going. However once the lads warmed to the occasion they started to use the big pitch to good effect with man of the match Polzin and wide man Tomei taking full advantage of the wide open spaces getting forward at every opportunity.

Garnett's deserved lead came when Emmet scored his first goal for the green and black and as any of the A's will tell you it was well worth the wait. After weeks of tireless running Emmet once again was sent running by his team and as he picked up the ball he flicked it over the tall centre back before firing home. It was a super goal and Emmet was mobed by his adoring team mates.

The second came soon after when Hill scored for the fourth consecutive game when he found himself with time in the box and rifled home to put the green and black in the driving seat.

In the second half fresher Polzin capped his man of the match performance when good work by Tomei on the right saw him beat two men and lay off to Hill. His shot found it's way to Polzin who scored via the goalkeepers hands.

Barca found some breif hope when a break saw them pull a goal back. However that hope was extinguished when Pearce was brought on and himself Hill and Mullan shut up shop as the A's saw the game out to gain three valuable points and put themselves second in the table.
