Garnett took a step closer to their holy grail today with a hard fought victory over a physical and well drilled Barca Law Na side. Playing with real heart and desire, qualities that have come with the side getting stronger and stronger as a unit and as friends Garnett contested everthing with Pearce and Mullan in particular fighting for and winning everything in the middle of the park.

The A's lead came when the rapid Ben Thorp ran through, left his defender for dead before slotting home to open the scoring. However Barca fought back and equalised when a skidding free kick was saved by Scott only for the re bound to be tucked away. Not deterred The A's took the fight to Barca and regained the lead when Tomei was hauled down. From the resulting free kick Heslop curled a rapier like shot round the wall and it crashed off the underside of the bar before hitting the back of the net.

The second half was physical affair with both Tomei and Emmett getting angry over some rash challenges from the Barca outfit. Despite this Garnett continued to match their opponents and gain three points that moved them top of the league for the first time this season.
